Cuba Gooding Junior Hit With Brand New Sex Abuse Charge As Trial Was Supposed To Begin

According to a report from Page Six, prosecutors hit Cuba Gooding Junior with yet another charge this past Thursday as his previous sex abuse trial was scheduled to start. Gooding Junior was smiling as he walked into the Manhattan Criminal Court but wasn’t smiling at all when he walked out claims a report from the outlet.

The Assistant DA, Jenna Long, stated to the judge that he had been indicted on an additional charge. The 51-year-old reportedly became visibly bothered when it was revealed he would face yet another charge. The A Few Good Men star was wearing a pinstripe jacket with a white pocket square.

This comes after Cuba was accused of sexually assaulting a 30-year-old woman at a New York City bar this past June. Police sources who spoke with The Post stated that now, he’s looking at another charge, but the details of it haven’t been released yet.

The Assistant DA didn’t release any information regarding the new charge, however, Long stated to the press that additional details would be revealed during his arraignment next Tuesday. The Jerry Maguire alum’s lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, maintained that the new charge was merely a “stalling tactic.”

Heller wrote in his statement that it has been “118 days” and thus far, and the DA has managed to gather hundreds of pages of “irrelevant” detail and other information that doesn’t prove any wrongdoing on Cuba’s part.

Additionally, Mr. Heller stated the DA has gathered a ton of information, including 2,500 videos, and after looking at them, he stated, it’s clear none of the documents prove any kind of incriminating behavior. As it was previously reported, Gooding was arrested just a few days after he was accused of groping a woman at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge.

Cuba was charged with one count of misdemeanor sex abuse as well as forcible touching. Video footage acquired by TMZ appeared to show Junior touch the woman while he was speaking to her as well as his girlfriend, although, due to the grainy footage, it’s hard to tell what actually happened.
