According to a report from PageSix.com, Lady Gaga recently spoke with Oprah Winfrey from Elle Magazine about the things that drive her success, which has lasted for over ten years now. The Grammy and Oscar award winner stated she had a “responsibility to the world,” to offer her gift.
According to the singer, she recognized near the start of her career that her role was to open people up and help liberate them through kindness. The 33-year-old entertainer dished on her mental health challenges as well, adding that she “kept going,” and wants others to be able to do the same thing as well.
Paraphrasing what the singer/songwriter explained in the interview, Lady Gaga revealed that as the years have gone by, and she’s changed a few different elements of her personality and being, she’s become far more mindful of her position in the world, as well as her responsibility to humanity.
“And I consider myself to be a kindness punk,” Germonatta stated, adding that when reminiscing on everything she’s accomplished over the years, it seems as though she has a rebellious streak to her, and what she’s doing now is communicating the message of kindness.

Because for her, kindness is the thing that brings all of humanity together and it’s what keeps people “healthy.” When asked at what point in her career she realized the power of kindness to the world, Lady Gaga stated that it all started with the relationship with her fans.
According to the singer-songwriter, she felt as though she didn’t fit in as a kid, and when she looks out into her audience at night, she can see herself in them. For that reason, she wanted to fight for “those individuals.”

Echoing the same point, the singer explained that her major impact on the world was to help liberate people through being nice to them, and it’s arguably the most “powerful thing in the world,” especially in the case of “mental illness,” the singer remarked.
