Jordyn Woods has launched a YouTube Channel using her first video to reveal the moment that completely changed her life.
The 22-year-old admitted she was extremely nervous to begin her forte into YouTube but decided to go big or go home. Instead of uploading a light-hearted fun video to kick off her new venture, Woods got candid about the lowest point in her life.
No, the moment that forever impacted her life was not kissing Khloe Kardashian’s baby daddy, Tristian Thompson. It was a life-altering moment for her. She lost her best friend, Kylie Jenner, and became enemy number one of the famous family. It was not the moment though.
“I had a very triggering moment in my journey of losing my father. Which completely ignited something within my body, even though it was probably the worst thing I had to go through, I learned that the bad things that happen to you don’t have to define you. Even though they do define your character, who you are, you always have to learn and grow through it,” she shared.
Her father John passed away from cancer in January 2017. The Secndnture athleisure founder discussed losing her father with former bestie Jenner on an episode of Life of Kylie.
Woods revealed in her YouTube video, her dad’s death triggered her to go to the gym. Working out became a coping mechanism for the model.
“My trigger was getting myself to the gym. That completely changed my life, and that moment got me to the gym. Gym became my therapy, gym became the thing I looked forward to, and not only was it helping me emotionally, it was physically changing my body and making me feel better,” she admitted.
There was a downside to her working out, as well as her body changing. Woods endured a slew of backlash from fans claiming she was no longer body positive. The truth was her figure changed the more she was in the gym. She needed the gym to deal with the loss of her father.
Jordyn Woods is going to use her YouTube platform to not only discuss her life but try to help others as well. By sharing the moment that changed her life forever, Woods hopes her followers will learn there are times that may change your life, but those times should not define it.
