Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith have been married for 22 years, but the actress is revealing the two are just now entering into an adult relationship.
The couple has become extremely open regarding their marriage over the past few years. A recent episode of Red Table Talk was no exception for 48-year-old Jada, who dropped another bombshell about her life with Will. She was joined by her mother and cohost, Adrienne Banfield-Norris and guest Chelsea Handler.
“I feel that I’m just now entering an adult relationship with Will. After 23 years. We finally are learning to have an adult relationship,” Jada shared, shocking her mother and Handler.
“Jeez,” Banfield-Norris responded to her daughter’s revelation, as Handler burst out laughing.
The Gotham star has a good reason for her claims. She feels that after more than two decades together, the couple has finally reached a certain level of maturity in their relationship.
One way the duo has matured is by getting real about their marriage, especially since they live life in the public eye. Jada admitted there is the disillusion people who are famous have perfect relationships. They certainly felt that perception was placed upon them.
“We wanted “to kind of get rid of the idea that people in the public eye have perfect. We were kind of sick of living up to that. We were real sick of it. And then second of all, really having myself and Will come and talk about our relationship, sometimes you see just women do it alone, or you just see a guy do it,” the mother of two shared.
The marriage has been far from perfect. Jada believes her and Will coming together to reveal and owning their pitfalls was a turning point.
They matured after airing some of their dirty laundry. She also credits the continuous hard work and effort they put into the marriage.
Jada Pinket Smith is once again keeping it real. She has no shame in admitting her relationship with husband Will Smith is just now entering an adult phase.
The actress has previously shared she is ride or die with her man. Their union “is beyond romantic love.” She feels they can recreate their union as long as they do it together.
It sounds pretty straightforward, but as any couple knows it is hard. So, thanks to Jada and Will for not sugarcoating their marriage or issues.
