The situation around President Donald Trump and his possible impeachment is getting more and more complicated, with recent reports indicating that there might be a very good chance that the notion to impeach him might pass after all.
And while this is still under speculation, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has already confirmed that the Senate would be forced to take up the impeachment and start the proceedings if it passes through the House.
McConnell said during an interview with CNBC: “Well under the Senate rules we’re required to take it up if the House does go down that path and we’ll follow the Senate rules.”
McConnell added: “I would have no choice but to take it up, based on a Senate rule on impeachment.”
It is still not clear how bad things are, and Trump himself has been keeping things under wraps for the most part.
However, it is becoming more and more evident that the president is worried about the outcome of the situation, and he has been making various attempts to divert the attention away from himself.
However, some of those seem to have backfired, as some people are now convinced that Trump is trying to evade the spotlight. Are things going to go as far as impeachment, and how could this affect the country?
It would be a serious event in US politics, and it could have some strong implications on the upcoming 2020 elections as well.
Some have speculated that an event like that could completely change the landscape for the upcoming election. However, it is still under question exactly how far things are going to get.
It certainly doe not help that the situation has been surrounded by much speculation and uncertainty for some time now as well.
President Trump took to Twitter, of course, to slam the Democrats for wasting time on “bullsh*t” as they advance with their impeachment inquiry.
The former reality TV star wrote: “The Do Nothing Democrats should be focused on building up our Country, not wasting everyone’s time and energy on BULLSH*T, which is what they have been doing ever since I got overwhelmingly elected in 2016, 223-306.”
Trump’s reelection campaign has unveiled a new advertisement where he claimed that the Democrats are carrying out a “coup,” against him.
The ad said: “Democrats are trying to undo the election regardless of facts, attacking the president by any means necessary, fabricating evidence. It’s nothing short of a coup, and it must be stopped.”
Do you think Trump will win reelection?
