Back in July, Anne Hathaway announced via Instagram that she and her husband Adam Shulman were expecting baby number two. The Princess Diaries star has kept a relatively low profile ever since, but she had her growing baby bump on full display while going full pregnancy glam at the New York City premiere of Modern Love.
Hathaway wore a cream-colored one-shoulder asymmetrical, tiered blouse from the Spring 2020 Oscar de la Renta collection that perfectly framed her belly, along with white boot-cut pants and gold heels. She accessorized the look with gold earrings and a necklace, and she had her brunette locks parted down the middle and pulled back while wearing some brown shadow and berry lip color.
The 36-year-old is part of an ensemble cast in Modern Love, which is a web series based on the New York Times’ weekly column with the same name that features reader-submitted love stories. Other members of the cast include Tina Fey, Dev Patel, Andy Garcia, Cristin Milioti, John Slattery, and Catherine Keener. It is also co-directed by Emmy Rossum.
According to The Daily Mail, the eight-episode anthology series is about “love in its multitude of forms, including sexual, romantic, familial, platonic, and self love.”
Hathaway’s character is a bipolar lawyer named Lexi who refers to herself as “the one human being who accepts the two people” that live inside of her. Eventually, Lexi finds love, but it’s with someone the audience doesn’t see coming.
The Oscar-winning actress says that when Lexi finds that patient, compassionate, loving person, it “changes everything for her. It gives her hope and gives her a future.”
Hathaway – who is already the mother of three-year-old Jonathan Rosebanks – posed with her baby bump at the premiere, and she revealed during an interview that the kindest thing anyone has ever done for her was when her son Jonathan came quickly so she didn’t have to labor for very long.
The Devil Wears Prada star has said that her pregnancies haven’t come easily. She wrote on Instagram that she was sending extra love to everyone going through infertility and conception hell because “it was not a straight line” to either of her pregnancies.
“[For] a lot of people who are trying to get pregnant, that’s not really the story. Or that’s one part of the story,” Anne Hathaway explained. “And the steps that lead up to that part of the story are really painful and very isolating and full of self-doubt. And I went through that.”
Modern Love premieres Friday, October 18th on Amazon Prime Video.
