Pasco County, Florida police arrested Clueless star Stacey Dash over the weekend for domestic violence after she allegedly slapped her new husband, Jeffrey Marty, and she is now facing domestic battery charges. According to police, Dash assaulted Marty in the couple’s Florida home.
TMZ is reporting that police arrived at the home after receiving a call about a nasty argument between the couple, and Dash allegedly slapped and pushed her husband. The police report states that argument began around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 29th “at an apartment in New Port Richey” and the “victim sustained red scratch marks to his left upper arm from being pushed.”
The 52-year-old actress is currently being held in the Pasco County jail on $500 bail. Body-cam video from the arrest shows Dash crying as police put her hands behind her back, and when the officer asks her what she does for a living, Dash replied that she is an actress and she was “in a film called Clueless.”
Marty is a lawyer and Dash’s fourth husband. The couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Florida last year, but not much else is known about the marriage as Mary reportedly likes to keep a low profile.
In Dash’s last Instagram post before the arrest, she shared a rough blueprint with a picture of Jesus in the middle, and in the caption she wrote “I believe” in all caps along with the hashtag #suppressednomore.
Many of Dash’s recent posts have been about her religion and faith, and she also recently invited fans to download the AllSocial App – a new social media platform where people can share their thoughts and ideas and really express their conscience without fear of being banned, says AllSocial consultant Rolfe Carawan. Dash also promised to follow back any fans who download the app.
“Follow me on @allsocialofficial @staceydash. Download the app and I will follow you back, “ wrote Dash. “I’m excited to make this transition with you all. I’m in hopeful expectation for The Lord to use me. By His grace and mercy He will. I Trust You Father. Be a lamp unto my feet. Open the doors You want opened and shut the doors You want shut. In Jesus Name. Amen.”
She also wrote a post that doubled as a prayer, where she asked for God’s protection from wickedness and “snares of the devil.”
Representatives for Stacey Dash have commented about her arrest.
