According to a report from UPI.com, Post Malone’s new full-length LP, Hollywood’s Bleeding, was the number one album in the United States for the second week of the row this past week. Just behind Postie’s new record was The Lumineers’ III, as well as Taylor Swift’s Lover at number three, and So Much Fun from Young Thug at number 4.
Post Malone, in recent years, has crafted a career for himself as a chart-topper, with three full-length LPs thus far, including Stoney, Beer Bongs and Bentleys, as well as his newest aforementioned record. Austin Post, also known as Post Malone, first came to prominence with his single gone viral, “White Iverson,” in February of 2015.
The song reportedly became popular almost immediately after its upload on SoundCloud, and then the singer released his first record, Stoney, and subsequently went on tour with Justin Bieber in the following year.
Some of his biggest songs thus far are “Better Now,” “Psycho,” “rockstar,” and “Congratulations.” On account of the artist’s versatility, Post Malone’s adaptability and likability have made him a mainstay on the charts.
His newest record has been hailed for its diverse array of influences, including grunge, rock, country, as well as pop. However, his diversity of influence has caused him some trouble in the hip-hop community. Some social media users, as well as media personalities like Charlamagne Tha God, have accused Post of being a “culture vulture.”
However, what was once considered as being artistic and diverse, has now become a faux-pas in the entertainment world – or at least among a sub-section of people in the industry and a few others on Twitter and Instagram.
While Post’s career has continued to soar, there’s no question he has encountered difficulties before, including when he was on a plane that nearly crashed last year.
After it safely landed, Post Malone took to his social media to say that he was happy to land safely, however, he couldn’t believe just how many people were wishing death on him. “Not today,” the singer-songwriter stated.
