According to a report from Page Six, Ozzy Osbourne is dealing with some metal in his neck, but not the kind he’s normally accustomed to. The Black Sabbath frontman, 70, went on his Twitter account recently to give an update regarding his health following his neck injury that led to the rescheduling of his tour.
On his Twitter account this Thursday, Ozzy stated, “at the beginning of this year, I had a bad fall.” The iconic rock star joked that after he injured several vertebrae in his neck, he had to have surgery, so now, he’s probably got more “bolts in (his) neck than (his) car.”
Ozzy joked that he’s not “dying,” he’s just slowly recuperating and is taking some time off from touring to get better. The star added that it’s probably going to take a lot more time than everyone initially expected.
With all that said, the singer stated he’s excited to get back on the road and start touring again. Ozzy added that he’s “bored stiff,” and has been stuck in a bed nearly every day, so for that reason, he’s stoked to get out there and start working again.
Regarding the canceled concert tour, Ozzy added that he’s going to have the tour back on the road sooner rather than later, but everyone has to wait for him to heal. “Still got gigs to do,” the rocker added, going on to say that the European tour will re-start once he’s fully recuperated.
Osbourne went on to thank his fans, promoters, and everyone he works with, stating that he’s not retiring, and he’ll be back on the road soon enough. There’s no question that Ozzy’s 2019 hasn’t been the greatest following news of other injuries.
For instance, he fell in January, which led to the injury he has now, and he also contracted a staph infection in his right hand. Not long before, he also got the flu which subsequently became pneumonia for which he had to go to the ICU.
Thus far, all of his tour dates for the remainder of the year have been pushed to 2020 instead.
